Privacy Notice

How we handle website enquiries, prayer requests and requests for pastoral conversations.

Last updated: 5 November 2026

Who to contact

This notice covers website enquiries to CAC King’s Court, Bolton, First floor, 25 Bradshawgate, Bolton, BL1 1EL. Contact cacbolton@gmail.com about your information.

What we collect and why

Our form asks for your request type, name and email. Phone, brief message and preferred availability are optional. We use the information to respond to your request and arrange a pastoral conversation where requested. Please provide only what is necessary and avoid personal information about other people.

Consent and sensitive information

We ask for your consent to use the information you submit for this purpose. If you choose to include information about your religious beliefs or health, the form asks for your explicit consent to use it to respond. You can withdraw consent by emailing us; this does not affect processing already carried out lawfully. Please do not submit medical records or financial documents.

Access, storage and service providers

Access within the organisation is restricted to authorised organisational personnel who need the information to handle your enquiry. Responses are stored through WordPress and emailed to the church’s Gmail mailbox. The form is not a public prayer wall.

WordPress/Automattic and Google provide the website and email services and process information in delivering them. Their policies describe their handling of information, including international processing: Automattic privacy policy and Google privacy policy. We may also need to disclose information where required by law.

Data retention

Our retention period for website prayer and counselling enquiries is two years from submission. This applies to enquiry records held in WordPress and the church mailbox. Contact us to request earlier deletion. Records that must be retained to meet a legal obligation may need separate handling.

Your choices and rights

You may contact us to request access to your personal information, correction or deletion, or to ask about restricting its use. Other rights may apply depending on the circumstances. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

If you have a concern, email the church. You can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Website technology and external links

The WordPress platform may process technical information and use cookies to operate its services, as described in Automattic’s privacy information. Following an external link, such as Google Maps or CAC headquarters, takes you to a service with its own privacy arrangements.
